Bam Adebayo was removed from the Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets game on Wednesday after injuring his left foot. At 28 years old, he was listed as questionable but did not return to play. At the time of reporting, Miami trailed 122-112 in the fourth quarter.
Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald shared an update confirming Adebayo’s left foot injury.
"Bam Adebayo not on the court for the start of the second half. Kel'el Ware starting in Adebayo's place."
Adebayo got hurt just eight minutes into the game, showing visible signs of severe pain, forcing his exit.
"Obviously Bam going down was unexpected but still competing vs the #1 offense and a top 5 defense is still so much build off of. Last year's team would've lost by 35. There shouldn’t ever be a rebound disparity of 20 rebounds that deflating and gives the other team more attempts."
"Was always gonna be tough with Bam. Made impossible once he didn’t come back in. Proud of the effort the group showed.. hopefully Nikola Jokic can give Niko some advice while he's there. Hopefully Bam's injury isn’t too bad, but the fact there wasn’t an update concerns me."
Before his injury, Adebayo was averaging 22.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, shooting 46% from the field.
Author's summary: Bam Adebayo’s unexpected left foot injury early in the game against Denver has fans worried, as his performance and presence greatly influence Miami Heat’s competitiveness.
