The Boston Bruins secured their longest winning streak in over a year with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday at TD Garden.
Boston clinched the win with less than six seconds remaining in overtime, overcoming Senators goalie Linus Ullmark. This victory marks the Bruins' fifth consecutive win, their best streak since January.
“These guys are giving me everything they got,” Bruins coach Marco Sturm said after the game. “Everybody knows me now and knows what I want out of them. I’m very happy with how we approach every game structure-wise now.”
The Bruins fell behind early as Ottawa’s Michael Amadio scored on the first shot he faced at 5:42 of the first period during a 2-on-1 break. This was the seventh time this season Boston allowed the first goal within their first three shots on goal, split between goaltenders Joonas Korpisalo and Jeremy Swayman.
