Jeremy Renner accused of threatening ICE action against filmmaker Yi Zhou

Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou has accused actor Jeremy Renner of threatening to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following a confrontation over alleged misconduct. The claims were shared through her Instagram posts and an interview with the Daily Mail.

According to Zhou, she began corresponding with Renner in June 2025 after receiving what she described as unsolicited explicit images through direct messages and WhatsApp. Their exchanges allegedly developed into a romantic connection, and she later invited him to join two of her film projects, including a documentary titled Chronicles of Disney.

Zhou stated that during a meeting at Renner’s residence in Reno, Nevada, on August 20, he appeared intoxicated and shouted aggressively for two hours, leaving her fearful enough to lock herself in a room. The Daily Mail reportedly obtained messages sent by Zhou that night, in which she expressed concern for her safety.

“He threatened to call immigration/ICE on me,” Zhou said. “It deeply shocked and frightened me.”

The actor, aged 54, has not yet publicly addressed Zhou’s allegations. As of now, no formal legal complaint has been confirmed.
