The National Weather Service reports that the dense fog advisory for Geneva and Houston counties will expire at 8 a.m. Although patchy fog still lingers across southeastern Alabama, it is expected to dissipate within the next half hour.
“Patchy areas of dense fog remain across southeastern Alabama, but it should begin to lift and dissipate in the next 30 minutes or so,” says the National Weather Service.
When a dense fog advisory is issued, it indicates that widespread fog is reducing visibility to a quarter-mile or less. Such conditions can make driving hazardous, so travelers are advised to remain cautious or delay trips if possible.
