Mild fall conditions will persist through Friday before a weather system this weekend could bring the first mix of rain and snow to the Chicago area this season. FOX 32's Mike Caplan provides the latest weather update.
Today will bring abundant sunshine despite a cold front passing through. Winds will pick up, and high temperatures will range from the low to mid 50s in northern counties to the low 60s in southern counties.
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with chilly lows in the 30s. Tomorrow morning will start with a few clouds, increasing cloud cover by late afternoon. Highs should reach the upper 50s.
Tomorrow night, after midnight, light showers will pass through with minimal rainfall expected.
After early showers on Friday, sunshine will return with mild conditions and highs in the low to mid 60s. Saturday will begin with a mix of sun and clouds, later followed by rain moving in toward evening.
Computer models increasingly suggest that cold air arriving overnight could cause some of the rain to turn to snow. However, snowfall accumulation is currently unlikely. Both U.S. and European models are showing this possibility to some degree.
"There will be much discussion in coming days over what exactly falls from the sky Saturday night and or Sunday night into Monday morning."

Summary: A mild fall weekend in Chicago may end with a brief mix of rain and snow Saturday night, though significant accumulation seems unlikely based on current weather models.
