Fairphone, a company known for producing smartphones made from ethically sourced materials for over a decade, has focused on repairable, sustainable, and sometimes upgradeable hardware. So far, Fairphone has only sold its products in Europe. Although the /e/ Foundation has offered some Fairphone models in the US, those came with higher prices and a de-Googled version of Android called /e/OS.
Now, Fairphone CEO Raymond van Eck informed Reuters that the company will introduce its first product in the US market—repairable headphones. This move may be a preliminary step toward eventually selling repairable and sustainable smartphones directly to American customers.
Fairphone is bringing its repairable headphones to the US. Up until now the company, which focuses on ethically-sourced & sustainable devices, has only sold its phones & accessories in Europe… although Murena does resell some.
The PlayStation Portal, initially designed for streaming games over a local network, has now introduced cloud gaming in beta since last year, allowing users to play without a PS5 console.
Fairphone takes its first step into the US market with repairable headphones, while Sony enhances PlayStation Portal by adding cloud gaming capabilities, and Vectrex Mini debuts on Kickstarter.
