Gibson has introduced the Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere Collection, a line of guitars featured in and inspired by the new biopic about Bruce Springsteen. The collection celebrates the instruments used in the film and its soundtrack recording process.
According to the official release, both Gibson and Epiphone acoustic guitars — many handcrafted at Gibson’s acoustic craftory in Bozeman, Montana — played a key role in recreating the sounds and setups of the early 1980s. Lead actor Jeremy Allen White, who portrays Springsteen, uses several of these guitars during filming.
“Springsteen himself famously used a late-1950s Gibson SJ-200 on Nebraska — the 1982 album that’s central to the plot of the film.”
The curated selection prominently features numerous reissues of the SJ-200, including the 1957 SJ-200 Reissue, modeled after Springsteen’s own “Famous Fifties Jumbo.” The Gibson Custom 1957 model showcases refined details such as hand-selected maple on the back and sides, a headstock stinger, and a thermally aged top.
Known as “The King of the Flat-tops,” the SJ-200 Original was first introduced in 1937. Its new reissue includes a carved four-bar Moustache bridge, an engraved tortoise pickguard, mother-of-pearl crown inlays on both fretboard and headstock, and striking flamed maple on the back and sides.
Author’s summary: Gibson’s new collection bridges craftsmanship and music history, honoring Bruce Springsteen’s legacy through detailed reissues of his iconic acoustics.
