This fall, Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth returns to the stage in a brand-new musical, marking her comeback after a decade away from Broadway.
Kristin Chenoweth first gained acclaim in 1999 with her role as Sally, Charlie Brown's grumpy sister, in the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Her performance earned her a Tony Award and established her as a powerful musical theater talent. Over the years, she became especially known for originating the role of Glinda in Wicked.
Chenoweth’s last Broadway appearance was a decade ago in a revival of On the Twentieth Century, where she starred opposite Peter Gallagher. Now, she returns in a new musical collaboration with Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz.
The musical is based on the 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles and follows Jackie Siegel, the wife of a timeshare entrepreneur, attempting to build a lavish $100 million home in Orlando, inspired by the Palace of Versailles.
"Jackie is a complicated, wildly different and outrageous character."
F. Murray Abraham stars as Jackie’s husband in the production. Previews of the show began October 8 at the St.
Chenoweth’s return highlights her continuing versatility and enduring influence in musical theater.
