Pamela D. Panzenbeck has been re-elected as mayor of Glen Cove for a third consecutive term, securing 51.75 percent of the vote. She obtained a total of 3,812 votes across the Republican and Conservative party lines.
Her challenger, Marsha Silverman, who represented the Democratic and Moderate parties, garnered 2,934 votes, accounting for 43.42 percent. With all 18 precincts reporting, 6,756 votes were tallied in the mayoral race.
“I’m very glad the people have recognized my efforts,” Panzenbeck said at the Knights of Columbus in Glen Cove. “I’m happy to keep that momentum going.”
A lifelong resident of Glen Cove and a Republican, Panzenbeck spent 34 years teaching business and computer education in public schools. Before becoming mayor in 2021, she served three terms on the City Council.
Her campaign this year focused on the progress achieved under her administration, including restoring the city’s finances, modernizing public facilities, and advancing infrastructure and community projects.
In the City Council contest, voters chose six members from a competitive field. According to final precinct counts, Democratic candidates Danielle Fugazy Scagliola, John Frank Zozzaro, and John L. Perrone led the tallies, followed by Republican contenders. Scagliola received the highest number of votes with 3,583, or 9.37 percent of the total 38,236 ballots cast across all candidates.
Panzenbeck secured a third mayoral term by a narrow margin, emphasizing continuity and achievement in Glen Cove’s fiscal and community development.
