Israel Issues New Tenders for Colonialist Expansion Near Jerusalem

On Wednesday, Israeli occupation authorities announced two new tenders for constructing a colonial neighborhood in the illegal Adam settlement (Givat Binyamin), situated on confiscated Palestinian land northeast of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate condemned the move as “a dangerous escalation in the policy of colonial expansion and land annexation,” warning that these tenders seek to establish “new demographic and geographic realities” under the “Greater Jerusalem” project.

Details of the New Tenders

The development plan is based on a scheme approved in January 2025 that confiscates around 150 dunams of Palestinian land near the Bedouin community of Jaba’.

The Governorate highlighted that this expansion is part of a larger strategy to connect Adam with the illegal outpost Givat Gur Aryeh, established in February adjacent to Jaba’.

“This creates a continuous colonial belt designed to encircle Palestinian presence and accelerate forced displacement.”

These actions show a sustained effort to impose control and alter the demographic landscape surrounding Jerusalem.

Author's Summary

The Israeli authorities have escalated settlement expansion near Jerusalem with new tenders, intensifying efforts to reshape the area's demographic and geographic fabric, further threatening Palestinian communities.
