Dodgers Pitcher Alex Vesia and Wife Share Tragic Loss of Their Daughter

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife Kayla shared heartbreaking news about the death of their baby daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia. The couple announced the tragedy in a joint Instagram post on Friday.

"Our little angel, we love you forever and you’re with us always."

The message revealed that Sterling passed away on Sunday, October 26th. Vesia, 29, had been on a leave of absence during the team's World Series run to address what was described by the Dodgers as a personal matter.

"Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday, October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her."

The couple expressed their gratitude to the Dodgers organization, the Blue Jays, and fans across baseball for their compassion and support.

"Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them. Thank you Dodger Nation, Blue Jays organization, and all baseball fans for your love and support. It’s brought us so much comfort."

They also extended appreciation to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the medical staff for their care during the difficult period.

"Lastly, we’d like to thank Cedars-Sinai and all the medical staff who helped Kayla and Sterling. Every person we met was truly incredible."
