Ken Jennings, the “Jeopardy!” host and former University of Washington student, recently visited his hometown to promote his latest book of puzzles. The popular TV show “Jeopardy!” attracts over 5 million viewers nightly, with Jennings playing a key role in its continued success.
Born in Edmonds, Washington, Jennings spent part of his childhood in South Korea and Singapore. Before gaining fame, he worked as a computer programmer. More than 20 years ago, he appeared as a contestant on “Jeopardy!” and won 74 consecutive games, becoming the highest-earning American game show player.
Lingering fondly of his Pacific Northwest roots, Jennings was chosen to succeed Alex Trebek as the show’s host after Trebek’s passing in 2020. His smart, charming, and friendly personality helped boost the show's popularity.
Alongside his computer science background, Jennings is an author. He recently promoted his new puzzle book The Complete Kennections: 5,000 Questions in 1,000 Puzzles at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park. This marks his first new trivia book in over ten years.
