After a challenging 31-10 defeat on the road against undefeated Harvard, the Dartmouth Big Green prepare to face the Princeton Tigers this Saturday in a test of resilience and skill.
Despite the loss to Harvard’s effective offense and defense, Dartmouth showed determination in the third quarter, signaling potential for a comeback.
“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game,” said head coach Sammy McCorkle. “But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going … We talked about it at halftime. Just go out there and take one play at a time, and let’s make sure we just do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”
Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team tight end, highlighted the offense’s potential when performing at their best.
“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone,” Corbo stated. “We came out of halftime with a purpose.”
Defensive end Joshua Johnson ’27 noted the defense’s increased quarterback pressure during the Harvard game and expressed hope to replicate this success against Princeton.
“With that game, specifically the pressure, we continued to put on the quarterback [which] was a huge thing,” Johnson explained.
Dartmouth aims to harness the positives from their recent performance and focus on execution as they prepare for their upcoming matchup with Princeton.
