Mail shipments from Bermuda to Canada will restart next week despite the ongoing rolling strike by Canada Post. A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) confirmed the resumption of mail shipments to Canada beginning Monday.
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
Delivery delays may still happen due to disruptions caused by the strike. Mail delivery from Bermuda to Canada had been suspended since late September because of the nationwide strike at Canada Post.
In response, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers recently shifted from a full national strike to a rotating strike, which allowed mail delivery to recommence.
The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
