Dodgers’ Alex Vesia Misses Team’s World Series Victory Parade While Dealing with ‘Deeply Personal Family Matter’

Alex Vesia Misses Dodgers’ World Series Parade Due to Family Matter

Alex Vesia did not attend the Los Angeles Dodgers' World Series victory parade on Monday, November 3. PEOPLE confirmed the absence was due to what the team described as a "deeply personal family matter."

The Dodgers had shared before the World Series that Vesia would step away temporarily. During the parade celebrating the team’s championship win over the Toronto Blue Jays, his absence was noted by fans and teammates alike.

“He’s such a big part of why we’re here in the first place,” said Dodgers pitcher Will Klein, expressing support for Vesia.

Vesia and his wife Kayla, who announced in April that they were expecting their first daughter, have been sharing updates about their growing family on social media. However, neither has posted since October 18, just before the World Series began.

“The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date,” the team said in a statement.

Klein also mentioned Vesia in an interview following Game 7 on November 1, offering encouragement to both Alex and Kayla.
