At 29 years old, Timothée Chalamet has already earned two Academy Award nominations and now receives his first Grammy nomination, highlighting his versatility as an artist.
Chalamet was nominated for the Grammy in the category of Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for his role as Bob Dylan in last year’s film A Complete Unknown. His nomination stands out because, unlike the other contenders listed as “various artists,” he is credited by name. The other nominees include F1 The Album, KPop Demon Hunters, and Sinners and Wicked.
To authentically portray Dylan, Chalamet dedicated five years to intense preparation. He trained to sing, play guitar and harmonica, and worked with dialect and movement coaches to perfect his performance. This commitment earned him a second Oscar nomination for Best Actor, in addition to nods from the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Critics’ Choice Awards, and a SAG Award, which he won.
“I can downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me. And I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is I’m really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats,” said Chalamet during his SAG Awards acceptance speech.
Chalamet's recognition across music and film showcases his ambition and diverse talent in the entertainment industry.
