Mike Smith, 53, known for his role as "Bubbles" in the Canadian cult mockumentary Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault. The alleged incident occurred in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in December 2017.
Smith faced charges in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in October. According to Trailer Park Boys Inc.,
"We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously. We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case."
The court documents did not disclose further details about the alleged assault. Smith was ordered to avoid contact and not to visit the alleged victim’s home, workplace, or school.
Following the charges, Smith has stepped down as managing director of Trailer Park Boys Inc. He has appeared alongside Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay, forming the show's main trio since it began. Smith bought the franchise rights in 2013.
Filming for the 13th season of Trailer Park Boys concluded in August and is set to premiere in 2026, coinciding with the show's 25th anniversary.
