Mike Smith, widely known for portraying Bubbles in the series Trailer Park Boys, has reportedly been charged with sexual assault. The incident in question allegedly occurred in 2017, and charges were filed earlier this month in Halifax, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Authorities have ordered Smith not to contact the alleged victim or approach their home, school, or workplace. Following the charges, Smith has stepped down from his position as managing director of the company associated with the show.
"We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously. We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case."
The Canadian broadcaster reported that the charge was formally filed in early November 2025. Smith has not made a public statement regarding the allegation at this time.
