The Boston Bruins extended their winning streak to six games with a 5-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. The streak is the Bruins' longest since the start of the 2023-24 season.
Holding a 4-3 lead for most of the third period, the Bruins faced intense pressure as Toronto pushed hard for an equalizer. Former Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten scored with less than four minutes remaining, securing the win for Boston.
“That’s my goal as a player. I want to be out there playing, so continuing to build on that and earn that trust and earn those minutes, that’s why I play the game.” – Fraser Minten
Minten, who was acquired from the Leafs as part of the Brandon Carlo trade last year, has earned the trust of Bruins coach Marco Sturm. Sturm praised him as the player of the game. Minten primarily centers the third line but is trusted to play in top-line roles during critical moments.
Just before Minten’s decisive goal, Toronto’s William Nylander almost equalized. His shot bounced off both the crossbar and post before going out, briefly giving fans hope that the game was tied as the goal light unexpectedly came on.
“Nylander’s shot ricocheted off the crossbar and then the post before shooting out into the corner. Nylander threw his arms up, the goal light went on, and Scotiabank erupted.”
The Bruins showcased resilience and skill, with Minten’s clutch performance underscoring his growing importance to the team and their impressive six-game winning streak.
The game highlighted Minten’s rising role in Boston, proving critical to maintaining the Bruins' momentum this season.
