Videos shared on social media captured 33-year-old singer Hyuna performing her 2011 hit “Bubble Pop!” when she suddenly fainted mid-performance at the Waterbomb Macau music festival on November 9.
Two backup dancers quickly came to her aid before a member of the security team carried her off stage, according to reports from News.Az citing other international outlets. The incident has raised new concerns among fans about her health as they await official updates.
Later that evening, Hyuna, formerly part of the groups Wonder Girls, 4Minute, and Triple H, posted an apology and reassurance to fans on Instagram.
“I’m truly sorry. It was only a short time since my last performance, but I wanted to show you my best side.”
“I’ll try to build up my stamina and work hard consistently. It will be so great if everything goes my way, but I’ll try my best.”
She admitted she did not remember fainting and again expressed regret to fans in Macau who attended the show.
Hyuna, whose full name is Kim Hyun-ah, had previously concerned followers with an Instagram post on October 3 in which she discussed her eating habits and weight.
“Hyun-ah, you ate way too much. Let’s snap out of it and go on a strict diet. You liked being skinny, right?”
The post prompted supporters to urge her to prioritize her well-being.
During a performance in Macau, South Korean singer Hyuna fainted, later apologizing to fans and promising to take better care of her health amid growing concerns.
