Sara Cox's Children in Need Marathon Route, Tracker and How to Donate

Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox has begun an intense 135-mile journey to raise funds for Children in Need. The Bolton-born presenter set off from Kielder Forest, near the Scottish border, and plans to reach Pudsey in Leeds by Friday.

This five-day adventure, titled the "Great Northern Marathon Challenge," takes her across four counties: Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. Unlike her Radio 2 colleague Paddy McGuinness, who raised £10 million last year with a demanding cycling challenge, Sara is taking on the distance entirely on foot.

The challenge began on Monday, November 10, and is set to conclude on Friday, November 14, just in time for the Children in Need broadcast on BBC One. Along the route, Sara will run, jog and walk, carrying a Pudsey bear mascot to symbolize her goal of getting "Pudsey to Pudsey."

“We’re talking 135 miles of hills, moors and blisters – but I am ready for the challenge, and I will absolutely be giving it everything I’ve got!”
“When they picked me to get Pudsey to Pudsey, I was honoured and horrified in equal measure.”

How to Support the Challenge

Donations for Sara Cox’s Great Northern Marathon Challenge can be made through the official Children in Need channels, helping support projects for children and young people across the UK.

Author’s summary: Sara Cox takes on a 135-mile, five-day run from Kielder Forest to Leeds for Children in Need, determined to deliver Pudsey bear by Friday’s BBC broadcast.
