Impact of the British Seamen’s Strike

The producers of Victoria are losing thousands of pounds due to the British Seamen’s Strike, which is influenced by communist agitators. The strike affects not only producers but the entire community, touching every wage-earner.

"Everybody suffers when the strike agitators rule."

Communists are deeply embedded in labor, openly advocating for the abolition of private property. The call is to stamp out communism by electing a government with a majority in both houses.

Russian Orthodox Church Proposal in Dandenong

The Dandenong Russian community applied to build a church in the traditional Russian Orthodox style, which was rejected by the Dandenong Council and the Board of Works. Michael Protopopov from the Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Melbourne commented on the refusal:

"A church built in Dandenong according to the traditional Russian orthodox style would be a worthy tourist attraction and an asset to the municipality."

He added that Rev Safronoff was right in his letter to the council, emphasizing the church’s vital role in the Russian community's life:

"They cannot live without their church. This parish comprising 150 families wish to build a permanent church in true Russian Orthodox style, in which they could continue to glorify God in the manner of their fathers."
