Golfers across Saskatchewan are taking advantage of the warm fall weather to squeeze in their final rounds of golf before the courses close.
City and private courses around the province plan to close between Monday and October 26. The warm weather has allowed golfers to play into late October, a rare luxury in the region.
“When you get into September, life gets busy. Kids are back to school, sports are on,” said Clark Stork, manager of communications for Golf Saskatchewan. “But when it’s 25 or 30 C, people think ‘Maybe I do have time to squeeze in nine holes.’”
The mild weather has been beneficial for both golfers and courses, according to Stork.
Golfers are making the most of the extended season, playing as many rounds as possible before the courses close.
