Britain's state-of-the-art polar research vessel, the RRS Sir David Attenborough, is set to depart for Antarctica to support various climate change-related science projects.
The ship, operated by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), will facilitate research on topics such as underwater tsunamis, glacier melt, and whale populations.

BAS oceanographer Peter Davis expressed regret over the US withdrawal from scientific exploration in the region, calling it "a shame".
The UK's efforts aim to assess the impact of climate change in Antarctica.
