Nanaimo Incorporates Rail Corridor into Long-term Transit Plans

A motion presented by Coun. Hilary Eastmure at a meeting on October 6, directs staff to explore opportunities and create policies supporting transit-oriented development centers, such as Country Club and Woodgrove, with clear connections to the rail system for future corridor-related transit.
“We’re doing this review right now. We’re working on these transit-oriented development centres,”
said Eastmure. The city council's decision emphasizes the importance of incorporating transportation by rail into future planning for transit-oriented areas in Nanaimo.
