Workplace Incident in Florence County
A man died following a workplace incident at Smurfit WestRock in Florence County, according to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken.
51-year-old Mark Anthony Richardson died at the Augusta Burn Center after being badly hurt and hospitalized.
Investigation
The South Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the workplace incident, confirmed by Holly Beeson with the South Carolina Department of Labor.
- OSHA is also investigating a separate incident at the plant where a man was hurt.
