International technology group ANDRITZ has been selected by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to modernise the pumped storage units at the Srinagarind hydropower plant.
The contract includes the replacement of two 180MW pump turbine units, including motor generators, electromechanical equipment, and auxiliaries, with ANDRITZ handling supply, installation, and commissioning.
The project is valued in the mid double-digit million-euro range and will be included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the second quarter of 2025.
The Srinagarind hydropower plant, located on the Kwai Yai River, is one of Thailand’s largest, with a total capacity of 720MW from three Francis units and two pumped storage units.
