Veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui has passed away at the age of 76 after suffering cancer-related organ failure.
Known affectionately as “Benz Gor,” he was one of Hong Kong’s most beloved and respected character actors, earning him the nickname “King of Supporting Roles.”
According to Hong Kong media reports, he passed away peacefully on October 28 at 2:30am, surrounded by family and close friends.
His passing came just a day after reports surfaced that he had been critically ill, prompting several celebrities to rush to the hospital to see him, including Bosco Wong, Charmaine Sheh, Dayo Wong, Raymond Lam, Michael Miu and his wife Jaime Chik.
Movie legend Chow Yun Fat also made an appearance at the hospital early that morning.
He was affectionately known as “King of Supporting Roles” and “Benz Gor”.
