What happens when a breakup turns you into a monster? That's the premise behind Hag, the new animated short from director Anna Ginsburg.
Produced by leading animation studio Strange Beast with support by the BFI Short Form Animation Fund, it is a darkly comic, surreal fable about heartache, inner longing and the pressures of modern womanhood.
When our heroine, voiced by Charlotte Ritchie, dumps her obnoxious boyfriend, liberation comes at a price. Undergoing a Medusa-esque makeover, she sprouts snakes for hair – struck by a strange curse that turns her into a literal 'hag'.
