Members of the Callander Public Library Knitting Group have created a commemorative banner to honour local veterans.
The banner, measuring 77 inches long by about four feet wide, will be presented on Remembrance Day to members of Legion Branch 445.
“We saw that other Legions had done something similar, and we decided to do it ourselves.”
Lorna Ryan, a founding member of the knitting group, said the project was a way to give back, and the group immediately supported the cause.
“I’ve never missed a Remembrance Day service,”
Ryan emphasized, and the group felt this was a nice way to honour veterans.
