Incident in Chicago Neighborhood Ahead of Halloween Parade
On October 25, 2025, federal immigration agents from Border Patrol, under Customs and Border Protection, released tear gas in Old Irving Park, a Chicago neighborhood, just minutes before the annual Halloween parade was set to begin.
This incident resulted in the cancellation of the parade. The agents involved were from a separate agency from ICE, both of which are under the Department of Homeland Security.
Some claims stated that ICE "tear gassed children," however, it was unclear how close any children were to the tear gas deployment.
