Tributes paid to tribal heroes at city event

SHILLONG, Nov 1: Rich tributes were paid to tribal heroes during a programme organised by the Arts and Culture department, along with the Tribal Research Institute, Shillong, at the State Central Library on Saturday as part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas celebration.
Director of Arts and Culture department, I Majaw, and author Daniel Stone Lyngdoh paid floral tributes to the busts of three Khasi freedom fighters.
Both emphasised the importance of remembering and honouring the contributions of tribal heroes who fought for the country’s freedom.
