After reading Waste Wars, one's perception of disposing of a plastic bag or an old mobile phone will change. Alexander Clapp provides alarming answers about the final destinations of such waste, mainly from rich to poor countries.
The more difficult an item is to recycle, the higher the likelihood it will end up in sub-Saharan Africa. As rich countries became more environmentally aware, they promoted recycling, but not all waste can be easily reused, such as unwanted cabbage leaves.
Alexander Clapp has some pretty alarming answers.
