Hilary Duff's Biggest Lizzie McGuire Revelations on Therapuss Podcast

Hilary Duff Reflects on 'Lizzie McGuire' and Her Time on the Show

Hilary Duff, 38, appeared on the "Therapuss" podcast on November 5 to discuss her new song, "Mature," and shared insights about her experience starring in the iconic Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire from 2001 to 2004.

She fondly recalled, “I loved it. I had the best time.” The show was a massive success, breaking all Disney Channel records and influencing the format of future series.

The Disney Channel Show Formula

Duff explained that Disney Channel followed a strict formula for their shows, ordering a fixed number of episodes and sticking to set budgets.

“They just ordered a certain amount of episodes, and that was what they did for their shows. They spent this amount of money, they had this amount of order, and they stuck to that formula for all of those shows,” Duff said. “I think one year we shot 30 episodes in one year, and maybe the next one was 35 episodes in one year.”

Lizzie and Gordo’s Relationship After the Show

Regarding the on-screen romance between Lizzie and Gordo, Duff shared her thoughts on the characters’ developments beyond the series.

“I think they had maybe an almost thing post,” she explained. “In my mind, I like to think she had a thing with Ethan Craft [Clayton Snyder], finally.”

She added that Gordo remained a supportive figure for Lizzie:

“Gordo is always there to pick up her pieces still,” Duff said.
