Will Richard, former Florida Gators star and rookie guard for the Golden State Warriors, had a memorable Wednesday night in his NBA career. Making his first ever NBA start, Richard scored a career-high 30 points in a 121-116 loss against the Sacramento Kings.
“Will was amazing,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “This guy, from the beginning of camp, has shown he’s an NBA player. The experience, the poise, he doesn’t turn it over, he makes the right play. He can handle the ball under pressure, he makes the right pass. This guy’s a hell of a player.”
Before his first start, Richard was a healthy scratch in two games by coach’s decision. However, after the Warriors were down three players, coach Steve Kerr put Richard into the starting lineup, where he excelled.
This performance reflects Richard’s potential impact on the Warriors moving forward.
Will Richard’s breakout 30-point game in his first NBA start showcases his talent, poise, and readiness to contribute significantly to the Golden State Warriors.
