The 2026 World Club Challenge is officially set, with Hull KR aiming to host the biggest rugby league event the City of Hull has ever experienced. The match will feature treble-winning Hull KR against NRL champions Brisbane Broncos.
Willie Peters’ Hull KR completed a historic 2025 season by securing the League Leaders’ Shield, Challenge Cup, and Super League title, an unprecedented achievement for the club.
Meanwhile, Michael Maguire guided the Brisbane Broncos to their first NRL championship in 19 years, winning the grand final 26-22 against Melbourne Storm.
“With offers from around the world to host the game, we are delighted to bring the Betfred World Club Challenge home to Hull, allowing supporters, not just from the city but the whole region and beyond, the opportunity to see the world’s two best rugby league sides go head-to-head,” said Paul Lakin, Hull KR chief executive.
Paul Lakin added, “With Round One of our title defence in the Super League, and a trip to Las Vegas for the ‘Battle of Yorkshire’ a week after the Betfred World Club Challenge, February is set to be the most exciting month in the club's illustrious history as we take the Robins to the global stage.”
