British actress Aimee Lou Wood has openly criticized fellow The White Lotus star Sydney Sweeney on social media, sparking surprise among fans.
The dispute arose after celebrity photographer Misan Harriman shared a clip from a recent GQ interview with Sydney Sweeney. In the clip, Sweeney dismissed the backlash tied to her American Eagle ad, which featured the slogan: “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.”
“Presuming that you are not a white supremacist, at least say how horrified you were by how this campaign was amplified and celebrated by unrepentant racists who believe in eugenics,” Harriman wrote.
“At least recognise the harm your jeans campaign has caused black folk. The undertone of the campaign is that your genetics are superior to others - the play on words is clear as day and racists LOVED it!”
“So, presuming you didn’t know when you shot it, you certainly do now, and it matters. This ain’t it!”
After viewing the clip and reading Harriman’s caption, Wood reacted by posting an emoji of someone vomiting. Her brief but powerful response quickly gained traction on social media, with fans sharing screenshots of the exchange on Reddit and Twitter.
Aimee Lou Wood publicly condemned Sydney Sweeney’s dismissive attitude toward a controversial ad, highlighting the campaign's offensive implications and gaining widespread support online.
