Manchester United remain unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches but managed only a draw against Nottingham Forest, where Benjamin Sesko struggled to make an impact.
Sesko, who transferred from RB Leipzig in the summer for £74 million, has recorded two goals and one assist in ten league appearances. Ruben Amorim has been gradual in integrating the 22-year-old striker into the team.
Before the international break, Sesko showed improvement by scoring against Brentford and Sunderland, yet he struggled again in the weekend match against Nottingham Forest.
"I'm no further forward with him. The jury is out," Neville said to NBC Sports after the Forest draw. "He's well off it compared to the other summer signings that Man United made up front in [Matheus] Cunha and [Bryan] Mbeumo."
"He looks awkward, he had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half - when balls got played over the top and his touch wasn't quite right. For £80million, you can say he's young, or has a lot of potential and he's only just settling in, but you still want to see a bit more."
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker echoed Neville's view, highlighting that while Cunha and Mbeumo have adapted well to Amorim's style, Sesko is still showing only potential at this stage.
"I would say they are slightly better. I think they are moving in the right direction."
Both experts agree Sesko’s early performances at Manchester United have been promising but inconsistent, requiring more time to fully settle into the team’s system.
Benjamin Sesko's adaptation at Manchester United shows glimpses of talent, yet sustained impact is awaited as experts see him still finding his feet compared to other signings.
