Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says Shohei Ohtani a possibility to start Game 7 of World Series

Dodgers Manager Considers Shohei Ohtani for Game 7 Start

TORONTO, ONT – Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Shohei Ohtani could take the mound to start Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday. The team kept its season alive by defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in Game 6, setting up a decisive finale.

Roberts noted that Tyler Glasnow might pitch again on consecutive days, while Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been ruled out. The Dodgers’ pitching strategy remains open-ended, but Ohtani appears to be a key part of it.

“Everyone will be available,” Roberts said.

Three-time Cy Young Award winner and former Dodger Max Scherzer is expected to start for the Blue Jays. Meanwhile, Roberts indicated that Ohtani might be used either as an opener or, if needed, as an outfielder during the final matchup.

“I think right now, there’s no wrong answer,”
“He’s certainly going to be part of the pitching plan. With Shohei it could be two innings, but it could be four. We’ll need to talk with him to see where he feels most comfortable.”

Author’s Summary
