The Detroit Tigers Lose a Historic Game 5 and a Memorable Series

The Detroit Tigers' 2025 season has come to an end after a 15-inning Game 5, one of the most iconic battles in recent postseason memory.

Game 1 and Game 5 were similar, both going to extras with a final score of 3-2, making them "coin flip games" where the Mariners came out on top.

Game 5 was truly one of the most intense games I have watched.

The Tigers' bullpen managed to get out of dangerous spots despite being depleted, but the Mariners eventually took advantage of Tommy Kahnle, ending the game with a walk-off single.

This concluded the longest winner-take-all game in postseason history.

Author's summary: Tigers' season ends in historic Game 5 loss.
