Paris Jackson, daughter of Michael Jackson, has spoken openly about the lasting effects of her past drug addiction. In a TikTok video posted on November 10, the 27-year-old singer discussed how her history with alcohol and heroin has impacted her health.
Jackson revealed that she suffers from a perforated septum, a condition caused by damage to the cartilage or bone between the nostrils. She explained that the issue is sometimes noticeable and results in a loud whistle when she breathes through her nose.
“I realized I never addressed this and it can sometimes be very noticeable. I have a really loud whistle when I breathe through my nose, and that is because I have what is called a perforated septum.”
A perforated septum, also known as septal perforation, is a hole in the nasal cartilage or bone, often caused by injuries or conditions that damage blood vessels in the nose, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Jackson used her platform to share her experience and warn others about the risks of drug use.
“And that is from what you think it’s from. Don’t do drugs, kids. Or do, I mean, everyone is going to have the experience they need to have with life. I’m not going to tell anyone what to do. But I don’t recommend it because it ruined my life.”
Paris Jackson’s candid account of her perforated septum highlights the physical and emotional toll of drug addiction, urging others to consider the long-term consequences.
