Fforest Fields, an acclaimed camping and glamping site located in Hundred House near Llandrindod Wells, is planning to expand its facilities. The family-run site has been recognized as the best campsite in Wales at the 2025 Welsh Hospitality Awards.
New plans submitted to Powys County Council propose the siting of nine static caravans, mixed between two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, along the edge of the lake on the site. The application also includes the installation of three treatment plants with drainage fields and associated works.
“The site is part of a large tourism site and forms part of the larger holding.”
The campsite has been operating since the 1980s, evolving from a small field on the farm into a popular destination.
Originally, the owners diversified a small field in the farm’s center into a campsite. Many of their earliest visitors continue to return regularly.
“Even though the site has grown and evolved over the years; we work hard to retain the essence of that original 'little gem' of a site that's loved by so many.”
Under the leadership of Will and Natalie Barstow, Fforest Fields remains dedicated to preserving the welcoming atmosphere that earned it national acclaim.
Author’s summary: Fforest Fields, Wales' top campsite, plans to add new static caravans while maintaining its original charm and family-run essence.
