In 2013, Omega released two significant watches: the Speedmaster Professional "Racing" and the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon. The latter was a revolutionary black ceramic version of the caliber-9300-powered Speedmaster.
The Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon featured a two-register dial and a domed sapphire crystal on the back, with a case, dial, and bezel made of scratch-resistant ceramic material.
It was a black ceramic version of the caliber-9300-powered Speedmaster that Omega had introduced two years earlier.
The update of this model was expected in 2023 to mark its 10th anniversary.
