CanScreen, a virtual cancer-screening clinic, has expanded its services to all of Vancouver Island.
Founded in 2023 by two doctors in Victoria, CanScreen aims to provide cancer screening access to patients without a family doctor.
To utilize the service, individuals can visit www.canscreenbc.com to book a test. Results are then sent to Dr. Stuart Bax, who contacts the patient to discuss the findings.
If further evaluation is needed, a follow-up appointment is scheduled with a clinician in Port Alberni, Comox, or Nanaimo.
Dr. Stuart Bax stated that the virtual clinic was established to address the challenges of booking screenings without a family doctor.
