Companies Fined After Worker Falls Through Fragile Rooflight
Two companies, Lee Properties Limited and LJH Property Limited, have been fined a combined total of over £95,000 after a worker fell through a fragile rooflight at a factory in Keighley.
The incident occurred on 8 July 2022, at Cirteq Ltd, Hayfield Mills, Colne Road, Glusburn in Keighley, where the worker was over-cladding an existing asbestos cement roof with two other operatives.
He stepped onto a fragile rooflight, causing him to fall through and impale his leg on machinery below, narrowly missing a machine operator working below.
- The worker suffered leg injuries but sustained relatively minor injuries despite the horrific circumstances.
