Nanaimo's Terminal Avenue Closed Due to Gas Leak
A two-vehicle crash on Oct. 14 sent one vehicle into the side of a house, damaging a gas line and causing the closure of Terminal Avenue's 600 block.
According to the RCMP, the crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. and
sent one of the vehicles into the side of a house, where it hit a gas meter
.
- Nanaimo RCMP, Nanaimo Fire Rescue, Fortis, and B.C. Hydro are on scene.
- RCMP advised that the road would remain closed until the gas could be shut off and wreckage from the crash can be cleared.
- Fortis crews shut off the gas supply to the home shortly after 3:30 p.m.
- Nanaimo Fire Rescue ensured gas was cleared from the interior of the home before having vehicles removed from the scene and the road re-opened.
