HMS Daring's Potential Return
HMS Daring may return to local waters next year, according to Commander Graeme Hazelwood, the new commanding officer of the Guernsey-affiliated Royal Navy ship.
Commander Hazelwood, a naval officer with almost two decades of experience, took control of the Type 45 destroyer vessel in July. He visited the island to reaffirm the vessel's commitment to the Bailiwick.
The ship last visited Guernsey in 2016 and has since undergone significant work. Although Commander Hazelwood cannot guarantee a visit to Guernsey in 2026, it is a high priority.
Everybody's really focused on making that happen
During his visit, Commander Hazelwood met with Lt-Governor Sir Richard Cripwell and Bailiff Sir Richard McMahon.
