Rehab Ahmed, the Paris 2024 gold medallist, has won her first World Championships title at home in a new weight category, the women’s up to 61kg category.
After recovering from a chest injury, Ahmed clinched her fifth World Championships title on the fifth day of Elite competitions at Cairo 2025.
Other notable performances include China's Cui Jianjin breaking the world record twice before winning her first international gold, and Turkiye’s Abdullah Kayapinar dethroning two-time Paralympic and world champion Omar Qarada.
Four months after recovering from a chest injury, Egyptian Powerlifting queen Rehab Ahmed clinched her fifth World Championships title.
This medal is also her first since her Paris 2024 gold medal show last August.
