ICE's Use of Full-Body Restraints Raises Concerns

A Nigerian man described his experience of being deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in September.

He stated that he and other detainees were woken up in the middle of the night, shackled, and told they were being sent to Ghana, despite none of them being from there.

“It was just like a kidnapping,”

The Nigerian man, who is part of a federal lawsuit, described his experience to The Associated Press from a detainment camp in Ghana.

The WRAP, also referred to as “the burrito” or “the bag,” has become a harrowing part of deportations for some immigrants.
