Three in four doctors concerned about health impacts of climate change: physicians warn ‘the NHS is simply not prepared’

Concerns About Health Impacts of Climate Change

A recent survey by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) reveals that three in four doctors (75.1%) are concerned about the impact of climate change on their patients' health.

The survey also found that only 16% of responding doctors feel their workplace is prepared for extreme weather events, such as heatwaves or flooding.

The NHS is simply not prepared

This comes as the Climate Change Committee warns the UK government to prepare for 'unprecedented' extreme weather events due to at least 2C of global warming by 2050.
